In practice since 2005, Bill practiced commercial and intellectual property litigation in the state and federal courts of Virginia and Washington DC before relocating to Colorado in 2011.

Having represented individuals and small to mid-sized businesses for his entire career, Bill understands that cost-effectiveness means something different for every client and every situation.  Most of the time, lawsuits are not like boxing matches where the best lawyer wins.  They are really negotiations where successful resolution depends on early focus on each case’s unique strengths and weaknesses to develop an appropriate strategy and objective.  This means understanding the other side’s objectives and motives as well as your own.

In the end, cases involve people.  While every situation is different, a de-escalatory approach can often make the difference between an efficient resolution and protracted and expensive litigation.  Bill understands how to maintain this approach while at the same time aggressively pursuing your litigation objectives.  It doesn’t always work.  When it does not work, Bill is prepared to bring your case to trial a judge, jury, or arbitrator in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

William often advises these clients on matters such as:

  • Venture Capital or Private Equity Transactions

  • Entity Formation

  • Mergers and Acquisitions
